Wu Style T'ai Chi Sword II featuring Gerald A. Sharp with Wu Ying Hua & Ma Yueh LiangWu Style T'ai Chi Sword II featuring Gerald A. Sharp with Wu Ying Hua
& Ma Yueh Liang
This newly chaptered video presents Gerald A. Sharp performing
the Wu Style Sword Series II (Seven Star)) from two different angles plus
rare archival footage of both Grandmaster Ma Yueh Liang and Wu Ying Hua
performing the 2 Person Sword form of the Wu school. A special chapter is
included with the translation of all 54 forms names of the Seven Star Sword
form, and they are specifically labeled as to their beginning and end.
The second series of the Wu style sword is intricate and builds on previous
movements learned in the first series. Much of the form contains more
challenging power training and Fa-Jing, but also maintains the wondrous,
internal aspects of T'ai Chi. The two person sword of the Wu School is
another rare example that presents challenging training for two, and further
builds upon the sophisticated ideas inherent in Wu Style T'ai Chi Ch'uan and
demonstrates the softness and precision that must be in place to make T'ai Chi
an effective martial art. It is presented in Five Chapters as follows:
Chapter 1: Introduction
This selectable introduction shows Sharp's training certificates and
photos with both Ma Yueh Liang and Wu Ying Hua.
Chapter 2: Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Seven Star Sword from a front angle. Chapter 3: Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Seven Star Sword from a rear angle. Chapter 4: Slow Motion: Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Seven Star sword from the front angle while all 54 names of the forms are clearly presented and labeled as to where each form begins and ends. Chapter 5: Rare archival footage of Wu Ying Hua & Ma Yueh Liang performing the entire Wu Style Two Person Sword Form. While the video's quality on this final chapter is substandard, the educational content outweighs the limitations of the video footage. |
