Wu Style T'ai Chi Sword Series I featuring Gerald A. Sharp with Ma Yueh LiangWu Style T'ai Chi Sword Series I featuring Gerald A. Sharp with Ma Yueh
Liang
This video presents the complete Wu Style Sword Series I (Heaven
& Earth Sword) from two different angles plus rare
archival footage of Grandmaster Ma Yueh Liang doing the form is also
presented. This video (and other Wu videos offered only at chiflow.com)
provides the most direct evidence to date on legitimate Wu Style with a
chapter of Ma Lao Shi himself doing the complete Sword I, and then
presents two demonstrations (front & rear) by an authentic indoor student
of Ma Yueh Liang for both comparison and more in-depth information.
A special chapter is included with the translation of all 94 forms
names, and they are specifically labeled as to the beginning and end of each
individual form.
Wu Style Jian (Sword, Series I -In 94 forms. Also known as Heaven and
Earth Sword): This is the first series of the Wu style sword form. The form
is intricate, long, and sophisticated. The sword switches hands various
times helping to develop symmetry as well as power. This form demonstrates
T'ai Chi's straight, double-edged sword with a superior mix of both T'ai Chi's
internal and explosive, martial qualities, and is presented in Five Chapters as
follows:
Chapter 1: Introduction
This selectable introduction shows Sharp's training certificates and
photos with both Ma Yueh Liang and Wu Ying Hua.
Chapter 2: Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Heaven & Earth Sword from a front angle. Chapter 3: Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Heaven & Earth Sword from a rear angle. Chapter 4: Slow Motion (Half Speed): Gerald A. Sharp performs the Wu Style Heaven & Earth sword from the front angle while all 94 names of the forms are clearly presented and labeled as to where each form begins and ends. Chapter 5: Rare archival footage of Ma Yueh Liang, Wu Chian Chuan's, son-in-law, performing the entire Wu Style Sword Series I (Heaven & Earth). While the video's quality on this final chapter is substandard, the educational content outweighs the limitations of the video footage. |
